The divinity of Jesus is a central tenet of biblical Christianity.

Bible References

There are some verses which we can consider. For example, Jesus (the Word) is described in John 1:1 as,

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God.

John 1:1

Another direct example is in John 20:27-29 where Thomas calls Jesus God, and Jesus compliments him for it:

Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe." Thomas said to him: "My Lord and my God!" Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

John 20:27-29

One of the foremost passages regarding Jesus' statement on His deity though is found in John 8:58,

Jesus said to them, 'Truly truly I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am'

John 8:58

If the reader will notice that after Jesus made this statement that His hearers picked up stones to stone Him. The reason for this is because if there is anywhere in the gospel clearly showing Jesus' deity it is right here in this gospel.

In the first chapter of the Epistle to the Hebrews the father is attributed as saying of Christ the Son.

But of the Son He says,"YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM.

Hebrews 1:8
